2015–16 Saudi Professional League

The 2015–16 Saudi Professional League (known as the Abdul Latif Jameel League, named after Abdul Latif Jameel Group for sponsorship reasons) is the 40th season of Saudi Professional League since its establishment in 1976.
Al-Nassr were once again the defending champions for this season, having won the previous two editions in 2013–14 and 2014–15 respectively. Their 7th title in total.〔http://www.fifa.com/classicfootball/clubs/club=1895079/index.html〕 The season will feature 14 teams, 12 from the 2014–15 campaign and two new teams promoted from the 2014–15 First Division, champions Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Wehda who replace relegated Al-Orobah and Al-Shoalah.
==Teams==
The top three teams of the league plus the winner of 2016 King Cup will qualify for the 2017 AFC Champions League.
First Division champions Al-Qadisiyah return for the first time since being relegated in the 2011–12 campaign and are joined by Al-Wehda who return after relegation in 2012–13 campaign. They replace relegated sides Al-Orobah and Al-Shoalah. This brings top flight football back to Makkah and Khobar.
